War

The dawn still rises yet again,
she spreads her wings, a flawless gem.
A day of burden comes to men,
no solace can be brought to them.

The morning, like a phoenix born,
a beauty, touching noones heart.
For there are armors to be worn,
the march of death has made it's start.

Our sun and moon, known far and wide,
are neutral things, though claimed by foes.
The day and night, their width denied,
but still are used for purposed woes.

And from the ashes to the sky,
there is only sorrow and pain.
The phoenix shall come here and fly,
for peace, for harmony unchain.

Another time, another life,
small chances for a happy end.
A war always cuts like a knife,
a history of joy to rend.
I wrote this on my way home from the University today and I would like to share it. I wrote it primarily to test if I could write a poem with a constant jambic tetrameter and well i hope it worked out good =)

A proposal for keeping up the iambic tetrametre in the 2nd from last stanza, 2nd line:
"There's only sorrow, only pain"

One language matter concerning the last stanza: I think that in English they say "happy ending", rather than "happy end".
Oh, and there's a typo in the 2nd stanza, line 4:
"has made its start"

Other than that: very nice indeed! You worked out your self-set task perfectly fine! Gotta read through it again when there's more time to concentrate on the content. Keep it up!
